Youth Appreciation Ceremony
The Youth Appreciation Ceremony (YAC) 2025, organized by Project Stand Up (PSU), was a community-driven initiative dedicated to recognising and celebrating the contributions of refugee youth-led groups creating meaningful impact within their communities.
Held on 27 December 2025, the event was built around a transparent and inclusive nomination and selection process, where youth-led organisations were nominated based on their leadership, consistency, and community impact. Nominees were carefully verified through reference checks and reviewed by a diverse selection committee to ensure fairness and credibility.
YAC 2025 placed a strong emphasis on uplifting often overlooked youth leaders, providing them with a platform for recognition, visibility, and connection. The event brought together community members, partners, and youth leaders in a shared space that celebrated achievements while encouraging collaboration across different communities.
Beyond recognition, the ceremony served as a space for engagement and storytelling, supported by a broader communications campaign, partnerships outreach, and interactive event elements. The event also integrated structured planning across logistics, media, and volunteer coordination to ensure a smooth and inclusive experience for all participants.
Importantly, YAC 2025 extended beyond a one-day event through its post-event accountability and learning processes, including impact documentation, partner appreciation, and reporting systems to strengthen transparency and sustainability in future initiatives.
Overall, YAC 2025 reinforced PSU’s commitment to youth-led recognition, community empowerment, and building stronger connections across refugee and local communities, while continuing to create spaces where young leaders feel seen, valued, and supported.
